

Funeral services for Norman E. Schnoor, 83, of McCausland, IA, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary in Davenport. Family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Military Honors will be conducted by Eldridge VFW – Post #6174 and Davenport American Legion – Post #26. Mr. Schnoor passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center – West Campus, Davenport. Norman Emil Schnoor was born in La Motte, IA on July 9, 1928, the son of William and Edna (Reeg) Schnoor. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years during the Korean conflict. In 1955, he married Alice Mangers in Dubuque, IA. Norman was employed for 30 years by Alcoa and retired in 1985. He was a member of Local #105, VFW – Post #6174, the 60 Plus Club, and the Alcoa Retirees Club. Norman enjoyed boating, fishing, playing Euchre, and R.V. traveling. For the past 26 years, he and Alice enjoyed wintering in Laughlin, NV. He is survived by his Wife: Alice of McCausland; a Sister-in-Law: Mary Schnoor of Davenport; several Nieces and Nephews; Special friends and Neighbors: Kathy Stutzel and Darcy Schneider, both of McCausland; and his two spoiled cats: Homer and Daisy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two Brothers, Kenneth and Donald; and a Sister, Geri Hartman. Memorials may be directed to the family or to a charity of choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Edwin Motto and his staff for their exceptional care and attention during Norman’s illness.
