Orville was born August 5, 1936, the son of Floyd and Mary (Davis) Parnell in Moline, IL. He graduated high school from United Township High School in East Moline, IL. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. On September 12, 1981, He was united in marriage to Cheryl Wright in Clinton, IA. He also worked for the Rock Island railroad as well as Ametek. Orville retired from the Moline school district as a custodian.
Orville liked to travel to Colorado and Arizona. He enjoyed visiting friends and family during these visits. Orville liked to read and was interested in the old West as well as American history. He enjoyed shopping and looking at local Art during his travels. Orville was a 32 degree Mason with the Doric Lodge #319 for 60 years and a member of the Scottish Rite. He liked dogs and was known to have different blond Cocker Spaniels throughout the years.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 41 years, Cheryl Parnell; his daughter, Maggie (Parnell) Johnson and her husband, David Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mary (Davis) Parnell and his sister Dr. Lois (Parnell) Frels.
