Patricia Howell Riedesel

Patricia H. Riedesel, 95, of Davenport, IA. passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026 in Davenport. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A private graveside memorial will be held in her honor.

Patricia E. Howell was born on October 2, 1930 in Davenport IA, the daughter of Etta and Dr. Harry Howell. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1947 and attended Drake University in Des Moines, IA. She married Paul Riedesel Sr. in 1953 and became a loving and caring homemaker raising 3 children Paul Jr., Nancy, and Daniel.

She and her family traveled for many years on camping trips across the USA. Family ski trips took the family to many states, as well as Switzerland. Later in life, she and Paul Sr. traveled to Austria, the Caribbean, Canada and Germany to visit the Riedesel Castle. They enjoyed many rounds of golf over the years with many dear friends. One of those rounds even netted her a “Hole In One”!

She was a 20+ year volunteer in the Gift Shop at St. Luke’s Hospital in Davenport and was a lifelong member of Chapter IC P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) Sisterhood. Patricia was a devout Christian and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Davenport.

Patricia Riedesel is survived by her son, Daniel (Andrea) Riedesel of Blue Grass, IA and her grandchildren, Jamie Riedesel (Kayla Skidmore) of Fruitland, IA, Jeremy Riedesel (Tiffany Coss) of Bettendorf, IA, and Matthew Riedesel of Davenport, IA.

She was blessed with 9 great-grandchildren all of whom had a special place in her heart. Her greatest joy in life was her family.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Paul Sr. (2013); son, Paul Jr. (2023); daughter, Nancy (2025); and daughter in-law, Kimberly (2016).
