Patsy “Pat” L. Conway, 84, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2024. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport, IA. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at the time of service. Pat will be laid to rest at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Disabled American Veterans. Pat was born on October 23, 1939 in Coal City, IA to parents Dolores (Guinn) and Kenneth Kelley. After graduating from high school, Pat began bartending. She later obtained her Associate’s Degree in business. Pat continued working as a bartender for over 30 years. As a headstrong and outgoing woman, she thrived in the position.
In 1958, Pat married Roy Southern. They had four children and later divorced. In 1990, she remarried to George Conway, he preceded her in death in 2014.
Among Pat’s journeys in life, was her diagnosis and battle with breast cancer. She thankfully survived her battle, but the diagnosis forever impacted her. She volunteered for American Cancer Society, was a member of support groups, and was the first recipient of the Roxanne Kramer Award. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, cooking, crossword puzzling, and taking her grandchildren on trips to Colorado.
Survivors include her children; Sheryl Southern, Randy Southern, Terri (Dan) Randolph, Craig Southern; grandchildren, Mitchell (Jennifer) Hedrick, Tanner (Hillary) Fillman; great-grandchildren, Nola Hedrick, Palmer Hedrick; siblings, Sue Gerard, Don Kelley, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, and three siblings, Doyle, Bonnie, and Jerry.
