Patty Gillam

Patty was born on October 24, 1945, and raised by Arthur and Margaret Cartee. She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1964 and spent forty years working at MidAmerican Energy in the billing department. She served as a treasurer of The Palmer Hills Condominium Homeowners Association where she was appreciated for her dedication to help others.

Patty enjoyed the little things in life. She loved reading, gardening, and collecting Isabel Blooms. Patty was a devoted Iowa State Football fan and treasured watching her children’s activities growing up. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by the parents that raised her, and her birth mother, Bernice (Morey) Cartee; brother Leo “Al” (Shirley) Cartee; sister Carole Walker (Cartee) and her husband Leon Walker; and son, Scott (Lisa) Gillam.

Those left to cherish her memory are the father of her children, Larry Gillam; daughter, Ellen (Michael) Waller; daughter in law, Lisa Gillam; and grandchildren, Ashleigh, Braeden, and Kara.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11 2026, beginning at 9:00am, followed by a celebration of life at 10:00am. Burial will take place at Oakdale Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In keeping with her generous spirit, she gave the gift of sight through the Iowa Donor Network, helping others even after her passing. Memorials may be directed to the family or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
