OBITUARY
Patty Jo Wells-Humphrey
January 11, 1942 – January 8, 2021
Patty Wells-Humphrey was born January 11, 1942 to Herschel and Grace (Taylor) Quinn in Moberly, MO. Later in life, the Quinn family relocated to Des Moines, IA where Patty attended East High School. Patty then moved to Davenport, IA in 1966.
Patty was employed with the Davenport School System as a Para-Educator and worked intermittently for the Eastside Development Center for approximately 15 years. She then transitioned to the Davenhill Senior Living Center working as a Dietician. Later in life Patty Jo joined Gospel Mission Temple and dedicated the rest of her life to caring for her children and grandchildren.
Patty loved animals, fishing, watching television and babysitting. She was known for helping others in the community and did not have any respect a person. She found solace in spending time with her family. Patty will always be remembered for her passion for people and her endless love for her family.
January 8, 2021, Patty transitioned from time to eternity and is survived by her children: Royal (Margaret "Kim") Wells, Weena (Dennis) Gibbs, Anita Wells, Alfred Gatewood, Joan Thomas, Chontea (Julian) Young and step daughter Missy (Steve) Lisle; siblings: Zella Williams and Allene Meadors as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Grace Quinn; siblings, Raydell Quinn, William Quinn, Nathaniel Quinn, Dora Mae James, Mary Frances DeVan, Joan Quinn, and John W. Quinn; and son, Elmer Wells.

I am so sorry to hear of Ms. Patty Jo’s passing. As a young teen, I would see her in the neighborhood. It was a pleasure seeing her lovely smiling face. My prayers go out to her children and entire family.
