Paul Arthur Taylor

Paul Arthur Taylor passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2026, at the age of 68. A Memorial Visitation will be held at Weerts Funeral Home, located at 3625 Jersey Ridge Rd, Davenport, IA 52807, on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a Time of Sharing at 3:00 pm. Paul was born on February 24, 1957 in Des Moines, IA. He was lovingly raised by Richard and Betty Taylor. He graduated from Pleasant Valley High School among the class of 1975. He dedicated over 20 years of his career to park maintenance with Davenport City Parks and Recreation, where he mowed an unimaginable number of acres.

Among Paul's favorite pastimes was watching baseball and hockey games. It was at a River Bandits baseball game that he had his first date with Cecilia Hinz. The pair later got married on July 5, 1980 and had two beloved daughters. Paul cherished time with his family and enjoyed taking Sunday day-trips up north to Wisconsin, always making sure to grab some Fennimore Cheese along the way. His belovedly dry sense of humor accompanied them on their journeys back then, and will now be remembered by those he loved.

Paul is survived by his wife, Cecilia; daughters, Ann (Tyler) Weimerskirch and Linda (Quinten) Boyd; grandchildren, Aiden and Boston; sister, Holly (Kevin) Zuck and nephew Brian Deeds.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Taylor.
