

Pearl L. Wilcox, 89, of Long Grove, Iowa passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Davenport Lutheran Home. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 am-12 Noon Wednesday at the mortuary. Private burial will be in Durant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Long Grove Christian Church, Long Grove Volunteer Fire Department or Long Grove Civic League. She was born June 26, 1926 in Pleasant Prairie, Iowa, a daughter of Johannes and Alvena (Petersen) Miller. On January 9, 1949 she married Donald Wilcox in Blue Grass. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1989. She had been employed by Mercy Hospital prior to her retirement.
Her memberships included Long Grove Christian Church and its CWF and the Donahue American Legion Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at the CASI meal site in Eldridge and enjoyed singing in the church choir, distributing communion to church shut-ins, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her sons: Terry (Jackie) Wilcox, Jim (Aidee) Wilcox and Ron Wilcox; grandchildren: Brenda Wilcox, Tricia Nichols, Alan Wilcox, Dorien Wilcox, Amy Shannon, Jason (Kari) Shannon, Carrie (Jason) Jackson; eight great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and a sister.
