Philip T. Dickey, 66, of Princeton, IA, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Genesis West Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2013 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Private burial will be held at a later date at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or VFW Post 828 in Davenport, of which he was a member. Mr. Dickey was born December 1, 1946 in Tallahassee, FL, the son of Philip C. and Sally (Jones) Dickey. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and later served in the United States Army Reserves. On May 22, 1967, he married Rosemary A. Wenzel in Hawthorne, Nevada.
He was employed by the Rock Island Arsenal for nineteen years, retiring in 2003. His hobbies included fishing and computers and he was an avid John Wayne fan.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Rosemary; sister, Judy Wyatt; children and spouses, Dianna and Rick Mayes and Addam (Sr.) and Susan Dickey; grandchildren, Michael, Anna, Juliann, Kimberly, Sammy Kay, Addam, Jr., and Christopher and great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Rebekah.
He was preceded in death by a son, his parents and his two sisters.
