Ralph was a good man who always did the right thing. He was a devoted son, a caring brother, a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a proud grandfather. He was a very good Ironworker, working out of Ironworkers Union 111 for 40 years. It was said that “He always came out to the job tooled up and knew how to use them.” A family man who always enjoyed family get togethers and Hamms Beer :) Ralph and Daisy Newberry were married 56 years. They have 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Per Ralph’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. His memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. and conclude at the time of service. Ralph will be laid to rest at Rock Island National Cemetery.
Among those left to cherish Ralph’s memory include his beloved wife, Daisy; children, Al Nelson, Katherine Newberry, Chris (Shelby) Newberry, Teresa Newberry; grandchildren, Alissa, Kelli, Michael, Kayla, Sydney, Bailey, Noah, Luke; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Darcy Hunt, and several nieces and nephews.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
