Ralph Edward Raymond, 69, of Princeton, IA lost his battle with cancer Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at ManorCare in Davenport. No services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held with friends at a later time. Please check back with our website for any updates.
Ralph was born January 25, 1951 to SSG. Alton W. Raymond and Juanita Black in Champaign, IL. Ralph’s father, Alton, served as SSG. In the U.S. Air force during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was stationed in England from 1957 – 1961. He passed away August 29, 1963 and laid to rest in Black Hills Cemetery in Sturgis, SD. Ralph’s mother, Juanita, was born February 19, 1924 in Alabama and later married Benjam Pait. She passed away in 2002 and is laid to rest in Harrnett County in Dunn, N.C. Ralph proudly served in the U.S. Army RA as an engineer during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Fayetteville Technical College, Fayetteville, NC as ARCH\MECH draftsman and Scott Community College for ACAD R12 . In 1983, he moved to Iowa and lived in Davenport, McCausland, and then rural Princeton. Ralph married and later divorced Deborah, who moved back to Kentucky and had 2 children, both girls, one had passed away.
He was employed for many years as a welder and fabricator for the Quad-City Boiler Company and Tri City Fabricating , Davenport. Ralph had many hobbies including carpentry and drafting, as well as drawing and painting.
Those left honoring his memory include his daughter, two brothers and one sister.
Ralph was preceded in death by a daughter, his parents, and a step-father.
