Raymond L. Blake, 67, of Davenport passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:30am Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be 4-8pm Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial with military honors will be at the National Cemetery Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans. On line condolences may be shared at www.rungemortuary.com. Ray was born June 1, 1946 in Muscatine, IA to Wayne & Audrey (Kingman) Johnston. He was united in marriage to Lujean Popejoy and they later divorced. Ray served in the US Air Force for 20 years retiring in 1994 as a Tech Sargent. He then managed the Cabana Trailer Park in Alexandria, LA for 6 years before retiring again. Ray was an avid sports fan following the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Cubs & NASCAR with Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver. Earlier in life, Ray had been a very accomplished bowler. Survivors include: 2 sons Tony (Cheri) Blake & Troy Blake, both Davenport; 5 Grandchildren Courtney, Dustin, Katie, Liam & Ashlyn; 1 great grandson Gabriel; mother Audrey (Blake) Johnston, Davenport; & 3 sisters Charlotte Luerssen, OK, Shirley Dahms, Durant & Pattie Fortune. Ray was preceded in death by his father & a sister Marilyn Petersen.
