

Raymond Aloysius Holtkamp, 73, of Davenport, was reunited with his loving wife, Margaret Ann, on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Genesis West Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM, Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Monday, August 17, 2015 at the Runge Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Online tributes may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Raymond was born on August 11, 1942 in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of William and Matilda (Hellweg) Holtkamp. He was united in marriage to Margaret Ann Kramer on June 27, 1964 in West Point, Iowa. She preceded him in death on May 19, 2008. Raymond served honorably for 35 years in the U.S. Military and retired as a Master Sergeant. Service included the U.S. Navy, U.S. Navy Reserve, and the U.S. Army Reserve. Duties included service aboard the USS Canberra as part of the blockade during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He retired in 2003, after forty years of service with the phone company. He enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, gardening, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Raymond also coached baseball and softball for his children and grandchildren. Those left to honor his memory include, children Christine (Alan) Williamson, DeBary, FL, Charlotte (Tobias) Stout, Orange City, FL, Corinne (Mark) Egert, Geneseo, IL, and Chad (Carrie) Holtkamp, Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Amanda, Elizabeth, and Christopher Williamson, Scott and Nicholas Seemann, and Davey, Mary, and Eddie Perez; great granddaughter, Isabelle Seemann; and sister Betty Ball, Donnellson, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank the gracious staff at Genesis West Medical Center and Hospice for their care and support.
