William was born March 10, 1930 to Ernest Everett and Enid Blanche (McCartney) Beattie in Janesville, WI. In 1952 he received his B.A. from Tarkio College and a Master of Divinty at Pittsburgh Xenia Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA in 1956. He continued to serve the Lord throughout his career and life. On May 20, 1955 he was united in marriage to Marian Canfield.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Marian Beattie; children, Betsy (Charles) Love, James (Simone) Beattie, Julie (Paul) Lindower, Scott (Christine) Beattie, Shawn (Kamy) Beattie, Matthew (Heather) Beattie, and Marianna (Steve) VonMuenster; grandchildren, Matthew (Mary) Beattie, Bethany (Josh) Nold, Charles Love, David Love, Annette Beattie, Andreas Beattie, Anna Lindower, Sara Lindower, Silas Beattie, Severt Beattie, Elida Beattie, Caroline Beattie, William Beattie, Thomas Beattie, Johnathan Beattie, Charlotte Beattie, Julianna Beattie, Clara Beattie, Florence Beattie, Clyde Beattie, Luke Beattie, Peter Beattie, Craig Beattie, Aurora Beattie, Annabella VonMuenster, and Emmaline VonMuenster; great grandchildren, Nathan Beattie and Rosanna Beattie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, William R. Beattie Jr.
