My husband and I had the pleasure of being our dear brother Dicks pastors. For many years he was a part of our congregation and he was a big part of everything we did there. He was always willing to lend a helping hand on the many projects we did over the years and was financially very generous. In his later years I had the privilege of being his chaplain in the home he was in . He loved the hymns of the church and was so very kind always . He sang with enthusiasm and was always a great support to the services. We will miss you and we look forward to seeing you again in Heaven .
Blessings!

I met Dick when I worked at Wonder/Hostess...he would come to Waterloo with Kate to visit with us on how things were going and if we had any questions or concerns..he was such a nice person and made you feel comfortable in what we were doing...it was such a sad day when Wonder Bread closed its doors and we lost track of all the wonderful friends we had made through the years...I will always have fond memories of him!!...my sympathy...

My thoughts and prayers to the family. I worked with Richard for 36 yrs. at Wonder/Hostess. Dick always had a smile on his face and made everyone feel so at ease. We laughed so much on our many road trips. Always looked forward to how Dick and Ruthann made my birthday so special.
Many great memories. He’s at home now with The Lord and Ruthy.

My Deepest Sympathy to ALL the Dreher family. As you know, your dad and I bonded the day he arrived at the Davenport Lutheran Home. His smile would light up the room! He was my buddy! He would follow me everywhere in his wheelchair, wait for me outside the room if I were in a meeting, or even the bathroom! I taught him to play the card game WAR! He loved all our music entertainment, he loved being out on the dance floor! I will dearly miss him. He will always have a special place in my heart. I will dearly miss all of you. Richard had such a wonderful, caring family. Thank you for trusting us with his care. Thank you for sharing him with us. With me. Love, Liz Activity Director.
