Richard Lionel Palmer

Richard Lionel Palmer, 93, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Manor Care in Davenport. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 12pm in the Runge Mortuary Chapel with visitation two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Richard was born May 5, 1926 in Decorah, Iowa; the son of James L. and Ethel Irene (Cairns) Palmer. He served in the US Army. He was formerly married in 1958 to Mary Gladys Mikesell; she preceded him in death on February 24, 2005. He was the owner/operator of Al and Action Heating and Cooling Company prior to his retirement.

His hobbies included: fishing, mushroom and ginseng hunting; going to the casino, playing table games and spending time with family and friends.

Those left to honor his memory include his sons: Robin (Donna), Davenport; Scott (Tammy); Indianapolis, IN and daughter, Sherri (Palmer) Marcum, Hope, IN; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His parents, siblings and son, Russell preceded him in death.
