A Memorial Service will be held on Friday July 17 at 12pm at Runge Mortuary, with visitation from 10am until service time at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
He was born the son of Ray and Phyllis (McLaughlin) Richardson on October 5, 1949, in Davenport, Iowa. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.
Richard was united in marriage to Cathy Martin on October 24, 1970, in Davenport. She passed on March 19, 2024. He retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after many years of service. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and he loved all sports, especially Cubs Baseball.
Those left to honor his memory are his children Melinda Richardson (David McCully) and Sean (Jackie) Richardson; sister Wendy (Rick) Paxson; grandchildren Nicole, Amanda, Brina, Taylor, Arianna, Justin, Dontae; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Cathy.
