Richard “Rick” R. Johnson passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at home. Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded. Rick was born July 8, 1949, to Roy Robert and Margaret (Hamilton) Johnson in Long Beach, CA. He grew up as a Disney kid and loved going to Disneyland. Rick began playing drums at the age of 15. He toured with the Rolling Stones when they first played in the U.S in the 60’s. Over the years Rick played with many bands, including Cher and Sally Struthers. He was united in marriage to Dana Hootman on July 10, 1984, in Las Vegas, NV. Rick’s passions included NHRA drag racing, horses, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Oak Hill Gun Club. Rick will be remembered as a jack of all trades, master of none.
Rick will be missed by his wife, Dana; children: Tracy (Karen) Johnson, Gabriel Conner, Erik (Kimber) Johnson, Jessica (Cody) Hall; grandchildren: Lola, Devynn, Sophia, Kilroy, August, Clayton, Chaz, Korbi; great grandchildren: Memphis, Rori, Maverick; and his beloved dogs: Thor and Baby. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Jeannie Green.
