Richard E. Speidel, Sr., 75 of Davenport, died Monday, March 25, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, March 29 at the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Those wishing to attend his services need to meet at The Runge Mortuary by 10:30 am on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Toys For Tots. Richard was born August 18, 1937 in Burlington, IA; the son of Joseph H. and Jessie (Bracken) Speidel. Richard loved to build model airplanes, garden and was always helpful to those who needed help at his apartment complex.
Survivors include his daughters: Holly (David) Loussaert and Barb (Dale) Harper; son, Richard E. Speidel, Jr., sisters: Shirley Stephens and Nannette Justman; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. His parents and brothers, Don and Bob preceded him in death.
