

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 29 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at The Runge Mortuary. A private graveside service will follow in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
He was the husband of Carol Walker for 43 years.
Dick was born in Libertyville, IL; the son of the late Arthur T. and Catherine D. Walker.
Prior to his retirement he worked for the Federal Government for 27 years as an auditor for the Department of the Army and later as the Comptroller for Region 5 of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. He then worked as an energy analyst for MidAmerican Energy until 2012. Richard and Carol moved to The Villages in May 2013 from Davenport, Iowa. He loved reading and doing Sudoku. He loved volunteering his time at his children's schools. He was a big Chicago White Sox, Bears, Bulls and Black Hawks fan. He enjoyed playing golf.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Carol; son, Daniel and his wife Rachel Walker and their sons, Nolan and Austin, of St. Louis, MO and his daughter, Kathleen and her husband, Christopher Unrath and their daughter, Harper, of Wakefield, MA.
He is also survived by his brothers: Arthur Walker, of The Villages, FL; David Walker, Evanston, IL and Martin Walker of North Fort Myers, FL; mother-in-law, Margaret Kent, Davenport; sister-in-law, Lynda O’Neill, Plainfield, IL; brothers-in-law, Bernie Kent, Davenport, Michael Kent, Houston, TX and Brian Kent, Bettendorf. He also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces, and a best friend, Martin O’Neill, Supply, NC.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Roberta Colligan.
A Memorial Mass was held at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in The Villages, FL earlier. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Cornerstone Hospice, The Villages, FL.
