A celebration of life will be held at the Runge Mortuary and Crematory on Tuesday, May 27th, from 4 to 7 pm.
Richard was born on May 20th, 1944, in Clinton, Iowa, to Ernest and Grace (Hamilton) Weller. He graduated from Dewitt High School and went on to work as a laborer for Local 309 until his retirement in 1998. He was united in marriage to Marie Kelly in Davenport and they went on to enjoy 49 years together.
Richard loved fishing and being outdoors. He could be found in his garden with his tomatoes or watching the birds at his feeders. He was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes. He never met a person without sharing a joke or two to see them smile.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marie, his daughter, Tami (Dave) Turner, grandchildren, Breanna (Nolan) Proehl and Jacob (Samantha) Turner, great-grandchildren, Delaney, Waylon, and Decker, and many caring friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: TJ, Roger, Gerald, and Dennis, and his sister, Joyce Clark.
