

Robert M. “Bob” McCarroll, 83, of Davenport, died on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the Bettendorf Health Care Center. As was his wish, cremation rites were accorded with a private family graveside service to take place at a later date. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Robert Max McCarroll was born on January 11, 1930 in Woodburn, IA, the son of Ruben and Myrtle (Lewis) McCarroll. During the Korean Conflict, he proudly served in the United States Army. Upon his return home, he began work at ALCOA Riverdale Works as a drafting engineer retiring in 1995. On May 29, 1965 he married Roberta Weston in Rock Island, IL.Bob was a proud and devoted member of Bettendorf American Legion where he served on the honor guard. He recently was a member of the Honor Flight to Washington DC. He especially enjoyed his morning breakfasts with friends and the most special times were those spent with his family and grandchildren.Surviving members of the family include – his wife of 48 years: Roberta; 3 Daughters: Geneva (Mark) Fensterbusch of Bettendorf, Jeri Rolwland, and Bobbie Coleman; a Son: Rich (Sharon) Weston of Bettendorf; a Sister Lucille “Mickey” Conrow of Missouri; 7 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, and his most special friend and companion: Rowdy.He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 Sisters, and 2 Brothers.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society or the American Legion.
