Robert R. Carstens, 89, of Davenport, IA, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Robert was born on December 20, 1926 in Davenport, the son of Harry and Florence (Mayer) Carstens. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Schnekloth on June 18, 1949 in Davenport.
Robert retired from the Army Corps of Engineers and enjoyed traveling with his wife. He belonged to the Turners for recreational activities and worked for his church.
Those honoring his memory include his loving wife of 67 years, Elizabeth; daughter, Debora Killeen; grandsons, Nathan (Jennifer) and Noah (Natalie) Killeen; great grandson, Michael Killeen; and brother, Edwin (Marilyn) Carstens.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harry and sister-in-law, Joyce.
