Robert Folin

Robert “Bob” Folin, 91, of Bettendorf formerly of Birmingham, MI passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Bob was born on February 13, 1932 in Gardner, MA to Grant and Bernice (Learmont) Folin. Bob proudly served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Cole on September 11, 1956 in Connecticut. Bob was a self-employed Steel Tube Salesman. Bob was a track star at Birmingham High School where he set state records. He was a Little League and High School basketball and baseball coach for many years. While living in Florida, he coached a High School girls basketball team who made it to the state finals. Bob loved to travel to Florida with his wife, Carolyn.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Carolyn; son, Bob (Karen) of Bettendorf; grandchildren, Andrew, Allison and Ryan; sister, Barbara (Robert) Gasser and nieces and nephews, Cynthia, David, Sarah and Steven.

He was preceded in death by his parents and children, Laura Folin and Eric Folin.
