The family will greet friends Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 1-3pm at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. Cremation will follow. Bob was born January 14, 1960 in Davenport, IA to Bennie & Ann (Hostetler) Franklin. He was united in marriage to Holly Ghrist on February 16, 2001 in Davenport, IA. Bob had worked at Altorfer Inc. for over 30 years, retiring in 2019.6
Bob was a loving son, brother, husband, father… and the best papa. He supported his family in every possible way; always encouraging his children to follow whatever paths their hearts took them on. In his spare time, he loved hunting and fishing. He volunteered for many years with the National Wild Turkey Federation. After his Parkinson’s diagnosis, he found great joy spending time with his boxing group over at Rock Steady Boxing.
Bob was as selfless as they come. He was kind, patient, an incredible listener, and he was funny as hell. No matter what he was going through he kept a positive outlook and always had a joke on standby. He effortlessly lead by example in every aspect of his life and he will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife Holly Franklin, Davenport; daughter Stephanie (Jimmie Jr.) Taylor, Davenport; Son Colby Lopez (Rebecca Quin), Davenport; 5 grandchildren Isabella, Jimmie III, Caydence, Bennie Taylor, and Roux Lopez.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Jacklyn & Sandra.
