Bob was born on June 7, 1949, in Grass Valley, California, to William and Ernestine (Clark) Jones. At the age of 13, he was lovingly welcomed into the home of Richard "Dick" and Maren Moomey, who raised him as their own and provided him with unwavering love and support.
Bob graduated from Davenport West High School in 1968 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, spending 18 months overseas in service to his nation.
On September 22, 1973, Bob married the love of his life, Nancy. Together they built a loving family and shared 47 wonderful years of marriage. They were blessed with blending their five children: Mark, Todd, Jenny, Bill, and Heather.
Bob dedicated 37 years of service to John Deere Davenport Works, where he worked as a painter. Beyond his career, Bob was a devoted family man and an avid outdoorsman. He found great joy in gardening, hunting, fishing and searching for morels. Some of his happiest moments were made outdoors especially when they were done with family and friends.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his mom, Maren Moomey; sister, Patty (Vern) Stevenson; his children, William (Jessica) Jones and Heather Jones, both of Davenport; 16 grandchildren, Dustin, Derrick, Valerie, Nathaniel, Katie, Taylor, Kayla, Delaney, Hunter, Hayden, Henry, Preston, Parker, Savi, Kase, and Rhys; six great-grandchildren and his dachshund pups, Baby Girl and Sofie, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy; his birth parents, William and Ernestine Jones; his dad, Richard "Dick" Moomey; and his children, Mark, Todd, and Jenny.
Though deeply missed, Bob's family finds comfort in knowing he has been reunited with those he loved most . His legacy of dedication, strength, love for family, and appreciation for the great outdoors will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
