Robert E. Lothridge

Born July 24, 1931, in Rock Island, IL to Edgar & Nan (Stockwell) Lothridge, Robert lived a long life marked by steady devotion to faith, family, and the work of his hands.

The family will greet friends from 10:00am to 11:00am at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Davenport, IA. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00am Friday at the church. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Davenport, IA. Robert was united in marriage to Nadine Reed on January 17, 1953, in Silvis, IL, and together they shared 73 years of marriage. A 70-year member of the Lutheran Church, he attended St. Paul’s Lutheran, Moline, Il for 44 years and Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Davenport, IA for the last 36 years—his life reflecting a quiet constancy and reverence that endured across decades. He was also a member of the former Pattern Makers League of America.

Robert found deep satisfaction in building and racing open wheel midget race cars, and he enjoyed taking fishing trips with the family. He loved spending time in his garage woodworking, and he was able to fabricate or fix anything—skills carried with care, patience, and pride. Above all, his family was very important to him, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his presence will be remembered in the steady ways he showed love and support.

Robert is survived by his wife of 73 years, Nadine Lothridge; three daughters, Dena (Gary), Everett, Davenport, IA, Debbie (Eric) Lindley, Colona, IL, and Lisa (Brian) Michalek, Lexington Park, MD; six grandchildren, Robert Everett, Ryan (Patricia) Everett, Amanda (Nathan) Bender, Brent (Adam Jones) Lindley, Melissa (Kevin) Barr, and Jessica (Mike) Dillon; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Lothridge.
