Robert Alan Meier

Funeral services for Robert A. Meier, 61, of Bettendorf, will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Mortuary. Mr. Meier passed away on October 28, 2011 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Robert Alan Meier was born on October 17, 1950 in Davenport, IA, the son of Robert and Rosemary (Tray) Meier. He married Linda Sue Hanson on September 29, 1973 in Davenport. Robert worked for Bowater, formerly Star Forms, for 24 years, retiring in May of 1996. He then worked in the maintenance Department at Car Freshner in DeWitt. Bob enjoyed boating, and also owned and operated Bob’s Fiberglass Boat Repair. Survivors include his wife, Linda of Bettendorf; a daughter: Lori (Chris) Hesseling of Davenport; a son: Paul (Jen) Meier of Bettendorf; 2 grandchildren: Kyleigh Meier and Rylie Hesseling; 2 sisters: Pat (Larry) Roelandt of Davenport, and Donna (David) Maurek of Aurora, CO; and 2 brothers: Allen (Shirley) Meier of Grove, OK, and Scott (Teresa Griffin) Meier of Roseville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to the family.
