

Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Wednesday January 18, 2017 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM, Tuesday January 17, 2017 at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, Davenport, Congregation of the Humility of Mary or the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. Bob was born on July 3, 1932 to Edna Lindquist and John Raymond Osmers on a family farm at Wilton Junction (Wilton), Iowa. He graduated from Davenport High School in1951 and served in the Korean War from 1952-1954. He served with a unit called SCARWAF (Special Category ARmy with AirForce) 928th Engineering Aviation Group at Colliers End in England. He then worked at his brother George’s Sinclair service station before going to work at Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company Generating Station. He retired from Customer Service Department of the now Mid American Energy Company in 1995.
He married Constance (Con-E) Levsen on May 4, 1957 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa. They enjoyed traveling and camping with their daughters and friends. For several years they had season tickets for both Hawkeye Football and Basketball and traveled to some of the away games and many bowl games. Bob loved fishing on the Cedar River with his friend, Marvin Cottrell.
Bob is survived by his wife of 59 years, Con-E Osmers; daughters Roberta Osmers and Rebecca Messerle (Brad); two grandchildren, Robyn Burmeister (Matt) and Jeffrey White; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou Kanakares and Betty Lonon; many nieces and nephews and a very good nurse friend he called Angel.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and visiting nurses who have taken care of Bob during his illness and the many prayers offered over time.
