Robert Joseph Skinner Sr.

Robert J. Skinner Sr., 68, of Bettendorf, IA passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital Rochester, MN. Cremation will be done with a memorial service to be held 2:30PM Tuesday (8/17) at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Robert was born June 30, 1942 in Ft Madison, IA to George & Rosella (Monks) Skinner. He was united in marriage to Sharon Huston on July 20, 1963. They later divorced, but remained good friends. Robert had been employed as an electrician with the IA-IL Gas & Electric for 23 years prior to retiring in 1988. He went on to work another 14 yrs in security for the Riviera Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, NV before retiring a second time.

Robert enjoyed playing video games, playing Mr. Pai-gow Poker at the casino, and listening to classic pop music. His favorite music group was Meatloaf.

Survivors include 2 sons & daughter in laws Robert J. (Kim) Skinner Jr., Davenport, Timothy (Denise) Skinner, Bettendorf; daughter & son in law Kathleen (Jack) Thomas, Davenport; 11 Grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 brothers & sister in laws Jim (Barb) & Tom (Nell) Skinner all of Keokuk, IA; sister & brother in law Roberta (Dwight) Nelson, Keokuk, and Margaret of CO, sister in law Karen Skinner, Keokuk, Ia. and several nieces and nephews

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Paul & Ron.
