Robert “Bob” G. Tank, 75, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 at his home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 4 – 7PM at Weerts Funeral Home, Jersey Ridge and Kimberly. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 1216 W. 8th St Davenport.

Bob was born on August 8, 1944 to John and Leona (Wendt) Tank in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Davenport Central in 1963. On June 19, 1965 he was united in marriage to Sharon Waddell and they had two children. Bob retired from American Water Company. Bob loved to spend time outside in the yard, working on different woodworking projects, and listening to music. Bob was a proud German American, his parents both being from Germany. He greatly enjoyed going out to supper with friends and family. His greatest pride were his children and grandchildren.

He was a devout Lutheran and a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Zion Lutheran Church.

Those left to celebrate his memory are his wife of 54 years, Sharon; daughters Melissa (Ben) Treakle and Michelle Tank; grandchildren: Austin Andrews, Morgan Beatty, and Megan Andrews; siblings: Shirley (Joe)Weston, Janice Simmons, Marian (Glen) Stroupe, Melvin Tank, Sharon (John) Meister, Alvin (Nancy) Tank, John (Kathy) Tank Jr., and Theresa (Jack) Hodges. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Terry and Albert Tank.
