Robert “Bob” A. Tucker, Jr., 74, of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022 at Windsor Place Senior Living Campus, Sigourney, Iowa. Services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11am at Weerts Funeral Home.
Bob was born on June 21, 1948 to Robert, Sr. and Jean (Graves) Tucker in Waterloo, Iowa. He grew up in Des Plaines, Illinois and graduated from Maine High School in 1967. Following graduation from high school, Bob joined the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1973. He enrolled at Eastern Illinois University in Evanston, IL and graduated with his degree in Computer Science. While attending college he was also working for his dad’s business in telecommunications radio. Bob earned his Certificate as an addictions and drug counselor (CADC) from Oakton Community College. Being a counselor was Bob’s greatest passion and a true calling from God. Bob retired in 2005 after health concerns prevented him from doing what he loved. He started attending Harvest Bible Chapel, now Coram Dio Bible Chapel, in 2006 and became active in the Men’s Ministry and Addiction Recovery Group.
Those left to honor his memory are his beloved wife, Judy, sister Rebecca Tucker-Harris, brother Doug Tucker, sister-in-law Pat Tucker, and many nieces and nephews,. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kevin Tucker, brother-in-law Paul Harris, and sister-in-law Deb Tucker.
Judy would like to express an over whelming expression of gratitude to all the employees at Windsor Place Senior Living for the devoted care, attention, and friendship extended to Bob. I trusted you with my beloved husband and am grateful for all you did for him. I would also like to extend a thank you to Hospice Compasses, you were instrumental in providing the needed care during this difficult time in his life. I am so grateful for your communication and emotional support during the last few months of his life.
