Roberta Belle Ralfs

Roberta B. Ralfs, 88, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Silvercrest Assisted Living. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Friday, March 11, 2016 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Online tributes and condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. She was born on February 6, 1928 in Bettendorf, IA the daughter of George and Josephine (Hanson) Schmidt. She was united in marriage to Herbert O. Ralfs in Davenport on October 15 1948. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2005. Roberta was a graduate of Davenport High School in 1946. Her first job was as a waitress at the Bettendorf Iowanna. Then, she was a homemaker and later, full time secretary for Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her pies. She enjoyed the Ole Timers Bettendorf Picnics. Those left to honor her memory include her son, Kenneth (Pamela); sisters: Mary June (Don) Brown and Marilyn Lemmon; brother-in-law, Benny Ralfs and grandchildren: Gabe (Liz) Ralfs and Jake Ralfs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; son, Thomas; brother and sister-in-law, Gerry (Bev) Schmidt; brother-in-law: Jack Lemmon; sister-in-law, Velma Ralfs and an infant daughter, who died at birth. Memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church or your favorite charity.
