Ronald Lee Ballard, 71, of Davenport, passed away July 6, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM, Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, Wednesday, July 10, 2019. Ronnie was born on July 6, 1948 in Centerville, the son of Lester E. and Patricia (Darrah) Ballard.
He graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army after being drafted in 1969 to Vietman. Ronnie then worked at Beusings for several years. He loved fishing, Bingo, flying drones, computers, electrical things, metal detecting, and the Mississippi Valley Fair where you could find him every night at the concerts. He also had the knack of finding four leaf clovers and was a skilled handyman.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Sandy Bennett; mother Patricia Ballard; sisters Sara Rottman, Kathi (David) Cato, Becky (Bill) Whitlock, Kathy Walters; stepdaughter Misty (Chuck) Lovedy; stepson Ed (Lisa) Kroeger; grandchildren Anesa (Chris) Holcomb, Charles (Audrey) Lovedy Jr, Bella Ramirez, great grandchildren, Christopher Holcomb, and one on the way, several nieces and nephews and his four legged friends, Zoey and Lyla.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister Debbie Ballard.
