

Memorial services for Ronald L. Farrell, 67, of Davenport will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the mortuary. Inurnment with military honors will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Ron passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at his residence. Ronald Lee Farrell was born on March 25, 1948 in Davenport, the son of Paul and Leila (Baker) Farrell. In 1968, he joined the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Ron retired in March 2015 from John Deere after 40 years as a welding inspector. Ron cherished spending time with his grandsons and family. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and playing chess. He will be fondly remembered as a humble friend to many. He is survived by his Daughter: Alicia (Todd) Lillyblade of Davenport; two Grandsons: Jacob and Derek Lillyblade: two Sisters: Linda Hopper of Davenport, Sandra (J.D.) Cummins of Seymour, MO; two Brothers: Jim Farrell, Raymond (Delores) Farrell, both of Davenport and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings: John Dalton, Glenadine Dalton, Katherine Richie, and Wanda Maddox.
