Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest in Maysville Cemetery. Ronald was born on April 26, 1945 to Marvin and Julianne (Kroeger) Jacobsen in Davenport, IA. He was a 1963 graduate from Wheatland High school. Ron worked as a forklift operator at Sivyer Steel for 34 years until retiring in 2005. On December 30, 2005 he married Judy Bybee in East Moline, IL.
Ron enjoyed collecting antique garden tractors, NASCAR, gardening, playing cards, oil painting, and in his younger years he bowled and participated in 4H Club.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Judy Jacobsen; children, Jennifer (Todd) Westphal, Jill (Tom) McNamara, and Johnathan Gregoire; stepson, John Bybee; and brother, Roger (Sue) Jacobsen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved daughter, Jana Palmer; brother, Robin Jacobsen; and sister-in-law, Sally Jacobsen.
