Ronald Kennis

Ronald Joe Kennis, 75, of Woodhull, IL passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at The Ivy in Davenport. Graveside services with military honors will be Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 2 pm at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend will need to be at Runge Mortuary by 1:30pm. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.

Ron was born June 3, 1950, in Centerville, IA. He was the son of Fredrick and Josephine (McKern) Kennis. Ron graduated from Bettendorf High School and then joined the Marine Corps for four years. After his service to his country, he worked at several area companies including the Corps of Engineers. He loved working on cars, especially rebuilding engines, had a love of music and playing his guitar, fishing and in earlier years, hunting. He was blessed to have a son, Nathan and daughter, Jaclyn. He loved his children and grandchildren very much.

Those left to honor his memory include Nathan and wife, Tracy Kennis, Pleasant Valley; Jaclyn Hidlebaugh, Webster City, IA; six grandchildren, mother, Josephine Kennis, Bettendorf; siblings Robert (Sandra) Kennis, Bettendorf; Rhonda (Michael) Bartram, Fenton, MO and several nieces and nephews. His father, Fredrick and wife, Becky preceded him in death.
