A celebration of his life will be Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 10 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Friday, February 24, 2023 from 4 to 7 pm at the mortuary. His final resting place will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
Ron was born January 31, 1946 in Davenport. He was the son of Henry and Wilma (Hachmann) Ketelsen. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He married Carlette Seyfried on February 14, 1969 in Moline; they went on to celebrate 53 years together. She preceded him in death on July 24, 2021.
He worked as a manager for 25 years at Walgreens and for 22 ½ years for Geifman’s prior to his retirement. He was a baseball fan, especially the Yankees and an Iowa Hawkeye football fan too. He loved to play golf, cards; especially euchre and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport.
In support of his son, Andrew, Ron was a strong advocate and was heavily involved with Special Olympics.
Those left to honor his memory are his sons, Kevin R. of Bettendorf and Matthew C. (Carrie) Ketelsen, Davenport, sister, Judy (Dale) Bergert and brother, Bernie Ketelsen, all of Davenport, numerous nieces and nephews and a lot of wonderful friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew and a sister, Elaine Ruggles.
