Ronald Wanye Proehl

Ron was born May 16, 1951 in Illinois, the son of Alfred and Violette Proehl. He received his Bachelor Degree in Diesel Technology from Scott Community College. He married Catherine (Reece) Sass on July 8, 1989. She preceded him in death on April 13, 2022.

He was a self-employed diesel mechanic for many years before his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, telling jokes (often the same ones), family weenie roasts and his beloved dogs, Hobo and Harry.

Those left to honor his memory include his children: Jade (Brian) Burkholder, Cord (Tracy) Sass, Rhonda Snyder, Blythe (Shawn) Boesen, Misty (Jeff) Leach, all of Davenport and Ronny Proehl, Andalusia, IL; 19 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brothers: Jerry (Sherry) Proehl and Billy (Denise) Proehl, both of IL; sister, Susie, TN, several nieces and nephews and his dogs Hobo and Harry.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dolly and a grandson, Austin.
