

Ronald (Ron) Lee Stewart, 76, of Davenport passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Genesis East. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 15, 2016 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the funeral home. Ronald was born on May 24, 1939 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Roy and Elizabeth Stewart. He served in the United States Army. Ronald married Linda Stock in 1969 and later divorced. Together they had 3 children. He worked at Oscar Mayer (Kraft Foods) retiring in 2000. Ronald was a life member of the North American Fishing Club, AARP and an organ donor. He loved socializing with his friends, fishing and deer hunting with his sons. Two of his greatest joys were going to the Iowa Hawkeye games with his granddaughter Melanie, who referred to him as “Buffy”, and going to the stock car races most often with his brothers, nephews and his little Buff. He is survived by his children: Jason (Kristine) Stewart, Travis (Lori) Stewart and Paula Moorman; grandchildren: Melanie Moorman, Addison Bensmiller Stewart, Tyler, Carly and Kaden Smith and Tyler and Brittany Whittier; brothers: Glenn (Shirley) Stewart, Donald (Janice) Stewart, Bobby Stewart, Larry (Cari) Stewart and Dennis Stewart; sisters: Neva (Robert) Aldene, Betty Kadlec, Mary Crafton, Nancy (Jim) Thornton and Julie Campbell and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter; brothers: Kenneth, LeRoy and Walter and a sister Ethel Stock.
