Ronald Patrick Vernon

Ronald Patrick Vernon, 81, passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 18, 2026. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Weerts Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow. Burial will take place at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery following services.

Ron was born on September 28, 1944, in Mt. Pleasant, PA, the son of Earl D. Vernon and Sara E. (Sanner) Vernon.

Ron was united in marriage to Suzann Marie Vernon on June 10, 1965, and renewed their vows on June 12, 2000.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Ruby (Vernon) Stull, Wilma (Vernon) Hollis, Shirley (Vernon) Kreinbrook, Arlene (Vernon) Shultz, Denise (Vernon) Knopsnider, and Leah (Vernon) Firestone.

Ron is survived by his children, Ronald P. (Terry) Vernon Jr., Mark W. Vernon and Cynthia S (Todd) Strom; Siblings, Maxine (Vernon) Ewing, Patricia (Vernon) Edwards, Daniel Vernon, Vicky (Vernon) Miscik, and Robin Vernon; Grandchildren, Nathan (Regina) Schmidt, Eric Schmidt, Megan Schmidt, Mark W. Vernon II, Luke Vernon, and James Vernon; and great grandchildren, Aiden Schmidt, Riley Schmidt, Lachlan Schmidt, and David Schmidt.
