Rose was born on June 13, 1933, to William and Anne Chrissinger. She was one of five daughters and shared a close bond with her sisters throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Mark Bachelder, who passed away in 2019; her parents; and her sisters, Patricia (Pat) Benisch, Carolyn Swanson, Helen Randle, and Mary Kraklio.
Rose graduated from Davenport High School and married the love of her life, Kenneth Mark Bachelder, on June 14, 1952. Together they built a beautiful life centered on love, faith, and family. As the wife of a military serviceman, Rose devoted herself to creating a loving home wherever life took them. Before becoming a military wife and homemaker, she worked for the local telephone company.
A woman of deep faith, Rose faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she remained a devoted member throughout her life. She also gave generously of her time volunteering at the Handicapped Development Center, always finding ways to serve others with compassion and kindness.
Rose found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved creating ceramics, playing cards with family and friends, tending to her beautiful flower gardens, and was especially proud of her roses. More than anything, she treasured supporting her children and grandchildren, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer them on at their sporting events and activities. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with the people she loved.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Shari Bribriesco, Steve Bachelder, and Scott (Diane) Bachelder; her grandchildren, Kathy Griffin, Kari Griffin, Kory (Hollie) Griffin, Brianna Bachelder, Kristina Oliver, Adrianna Redford, and Hannah Bachelder; and her 18 great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her love and legacy in their hearts.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 1pm at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 15th from 11:30 until 12:30 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Family and close friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life following the burial.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. Rose’s life was a testament to faith, kindness, and unconditional love, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
