Roy William Gray III

Visitation will be held 5-7pm on Thursday, April 6, at the Runge Mortuary. Services will be at 12pm on Friday, April 7, at the mortuary. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Roy was born August 16, 1940 to Roy Gray Jr. and Pearl Weissman in Quincy, IL. He was drafted into the U.S. Navy where he served his country during the Vietnam War.

Roy loved live music, singing, playing the lottery, and his Cadillac’s. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Roy always had a story to tell and friends everywhere he went with his famous stage name “Roy Boy”.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Brian William (Tina) Gray, Robert William (Tonya) Gray, and Jennifer Renee Gray; grandchildren: Ashleigh, Kirk, Samantha, Abbie, Audreanna, Dustin, Ashlyn, Jessica, Jerrad, and Ayden; 9 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Connie Crouch and John Fliege.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sylvia.
