Royce was born on July 15, 1949, the son of Roy & Gladys (Soltau) Vogt. Royce had spent a majority of his working life with the telephone companies through the decades of transitions including: Northwestern Bell, AT&T, Qwest, and Century Link.
Royce enjoyed his pets including his favorite dogs, Ketty and Stevie. He had a great, albeit occasionally inappropriate sense of humor. He enjoyed tinkering, and collecting mechanical things such as clocks, tiffany lamps, and telephones. He enjoyed the music of the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, and Fleetwood Mac, and many other musicians of his youth. He found peace in nature and enjoyed staying at cabins in the woods. His favorite things were spending time with family, a good hearty meal, tending his yard and maintaining his fountains.
Survivors include his sister, Nancy Newton; daughters, Elizabeth Erin (Chris) Koehler and Carrie (John) Millwood; granddaughters, Madelynn Vogt, Lillian Millwood, and Sarah Koehler; and (step) grandsons, Caleb, John, Daniel, and Christian.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his longtime partner, Pam Dice, grandson, William Koehler, and his beloved dogs, Stevie and Ketty.
