Ruby C. Hoovler, 97, formerly of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in Aledo, IL. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1 pm in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 11 am-1 pm Saturday at the mortuary. Private burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Muscatine County Humane Society. Mrs. Hoovler was born January 17, 1917 in Hawkeye, Iowa, a daughter of Hans and Elfrieda (Rohr) Ahrens. She married Harold Hoovler in Clinton, Iowa in 1948. He preceded her in death in 1969. She had been employed by Burke’s Cleaners in Davenport as a seamstress prior to her retirement.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Charles Stratton of New Boston, IL, eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Gless, II, a sister and five brothers.
