

Ruth H. Kilburn, 93, of Davenport, formerly of Pennsylvania, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 in her home at Silvercrest. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 Saturday, December 19, 2015 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Ruth was born on March 26, 1922 in Souderton, PA; the daughter of Paul and Katie (Hunsicker) Yoder. She was united in marriage to Paul Shultz on September 7, 1947. He passed away on March 18, 1954 in Dublin, PA. Later she married Emory Kilburn on December 27, 1957; he also preceded her in death on December 25, 2003 in Hamburg, PA.
She was very devoted and active in her church her whole life and enjoyed being involved with the Lutheran Church Women. Ruth was a very selfless woman who gave of her time to anyone in need. She was a giver, not a taker.
Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, embroidery and reading.
In her final years, she enjoyed bible study and playing bingo.
Those honoring her memory include her son, Paul (Linda) Shultz, New York; daughter, Margaret “Maggie” (John) Kraehling, Davenport; sister-in-law, Margaret Yoder, PA; siblings: George Yoder, PA, Millie Hatt, TX, Charles (Louise) Yoder, PA, Marie Wenner, PA, Betty (Bob) Reiff, PA, Jim (Ann) Yoder, ME; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Paul (Jennifer) Shultz Jr., TX, Alexandra Shultz, Joyce (Jason) Werning, Julia and Jordan Werning, Blue Grass, Jake (Danielle) Kraehling, Harrison and Lucy Kraehling, Gilbert, IA and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, brothers: Henry and Paul Yoder; brothers-in-law, Bruce Hatt and Nelson Wenner and a sister-in-law, Vivian Yoder.
