

Ruth M. Watts, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at the Davenport Lutheran Home. A celebration of life will be at 10:00 am on Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Davenport Lutheran Home. Ruth was born December 21, 1924, in Sioux Center, Iowa, the eighth of ten children, and daughter of William F. and Dora (Brunquell) Tonn. Following graduation from Davenport Central High School in 1942, she worked at the Rock Island Arsenal. In 1949 she married Dr. William Bahan, a Palmer Chiropractic College graduate from Massachusetts.
In 1988, Ruth returned to the Quad Cities from New England and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bettendorf and a volunteer at the Bettendorf VA Clinic.
The Davenport Lutheran Home became Ruth’s home in 2012 and that December, at the age of 88, she was remarried to resident Wendell C. Watts, age 90.
In addition to her husband, those left to honor her memory include her daughter Christine (Hugh) St. Onge; her sons, William (Linda) and Timothy Bahan; her grandchildren, Michelle, Kim, Katie, Gene, Samantha, and Jessica; her great-granddaughter Reese; and her sisters, Charlotte Wiese, Rock Island, and Marjorie Goad, Virginia.
Ruth has donated her body to the University of Iowa, College of Medicine, so that in death the living may be served.
