Sandra E. Beguhn

Sandra E. Beguhn, 71, of Davenport, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 2:00 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until the service, at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church in Davenport or the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com. Sandra was born, November 3, 1942 in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Loeta (Payton) Funk. She was united in marriage to Lynn L. Beguhn on June 29, 1963. She was an accomplished and award-winning poet who was a devoted daughter, wife and mother along with a great friend to many. She was a life-long member of Grace United Methodist Church. She loved to travel with her family and was active in the PTA, where she served as President and also was a leader for the Girl and Boy Scouts. Those left to honor her memory include her loving husband of 51 years, Lynn; son, John (Andrea) Beguhn, Cedar Rapids, IA; daughter, Kelly Simpson, Davenport; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren and her best friend, Bernie Bellman. She was preceded in death by her parents.
