
Sandra Jean Kelly, 69, of Davenport, passed away suddenly, Saturday, April 5, 2014 at St. Mary Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Memorials may be made to the family. She was born in Davenport January 20, 1945 to Mamie (Hartson) Kelly and Charles N. Kelly, Sr.
She attended Savannah High School in Savannah, Illinois. She loved to dance, sew, crochet and was a talented artist. She enjoyed feeding birds and bird watching. Sandra was a loving free spirit and homemaker who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Those left to honor her memory include; children Teresa Post, Galena, IL, Sherri (Ira Jr.) Thurmond, Freeport, IL, and C.J. Hendrick, Rockford, IL; grandchildren Maggie Cade, Manchester, IA, Jacob Townsend, Dubuque, IA, Gretchen (Bob) Dryer, Maquoketa, IA, Hannah (Richard) Graham, Lost Nation, IA, Todd Townsend, Lost Nation, IA, Antonio Townsend, Galena, IL, Amanda Hendrick, Rayshelle Thurmond, and Ira Thurmond, III all of Freeport, IL; four great grandsons, Ashton Thurmond, Andrew Cade, Aiden Cade, and Braxton Graham; brother Charles N. (Linda) Kelly, Jr., Clinton, IA; sister Margie (Cecil) Kitson, Oregon, IL; brother Harold Curl; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends and staff at St. Mary Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles Kelly, Sr., mother Mamie Curl, brother Andy Curl, and one son Ernest Hendrick.
