Sandra Perrin, 77, of Parkview, Iowa, passed away Thursday, March 8th, 2018 at 10 am surrounded by her family after a six year battle with thymic carcinoma. Services to celebrate her life will be 10:00 am Monday, March 12th at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport, with pastor Ruth Ann Scott officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-7:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. In lieu of other expessions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital or to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Sandra was born in 1940 in Burlington, IA and raised in Kirkwood, IL. She was the only child of Cleo and Geraldine Smith. She was united in marriage to Jerry Perrin on April 3rd, 1966. Sandra was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to camp, cook, bake, knit and play the organ for church services. Her favorite hobby was playing bingo. She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes and the North Scott Lancers. When she was a child she would help her parents at the Smith Grocery Store delivering groceries in the basket of her bicycle to the elderly residents in Kirkwood and would receive 25 cents for each delivery. She graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1958 and attended Iowa Wesleyan College, Mt. Pleasant, for two years. She was employed at the Warren County Circuit Clerk’s office in Monmouth, IL. Her family moved to Parkview in 1980. She was employed at the Scott County Recorders office, Davenport, retiring in 2002.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband Jerry; sons Rodney (Heather) Perrin and Corey (Beverly) Perrin, all of Park View, IA; grandchildren Blair, Kyle, Adam, Eric, Alyssa, Andrea, and Ava; two step-grandchildren Dylan and Isabella; aunt Mary (Forrest) Easum of Monmouth and cousin Nancy Easum of Springfield, IL.. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law Donald Perrin and Raymond Perrin, and sisters-in-law Winifred Perrin and Josephine Perrin.
